Animal control should be open seven days a week. That would make adoption of animal’s much easier. Also set up an emergency service for your pets as we all know they are part of the family. Using vet students and retired and still working veterinarians on Saturday’s and Sunday’s and holidays. Example if your small dog gets bitten by a snake you should be able to bring him to animal control on those days instead of driving all the way to Raleigh to an emergency animal hospital. I am not telling you that the animal control facility should be turned into a veterinarians office. But I am telling you if you have an emergency with your animal you should be able to call 911 for assistance if it is a emergency. Additional volunteers to staff after hours and weekends see volunteers sheriff posse.

If we implement these ideas we will be able to save the lives of twice as many animals i believe.
